Changelog
Updates and changes to Rites of Passage
May 2026
May 19
- The
prac, prereq, unlearn, skill, and spell commands now accept arguments with or without quotes.
- The druid affect "Blessing" has been renamed to "Ward" to avoid conflicting with the Bless spell.

help targeting. A hint pointing players to it has also been added to the hints system.
- Hints now fire every 6 in-game hours instead of 3.
- The Mask of Ra now correctly has the
+arcane flag.
May 16

channels command now lists all channels with their current on/off status, shown in each channel's color. Type channels <name> to toggle any channel.

- A new automated hint system sends periodic tips to all players every 3 in-game hours, cycling through a list of hints covering basic commands, game mechanics, and community resources. Hints can be toggled off with
channels hints.
- Mana room names now display in bold cyan so players can easily identify them at a glance.
- Teleport added to the Alchemist spell list at level 56.
- A previously locked (pick-only) steel door in Shienar is now unlocked.
May 14

look command no longer interrupts spellcasting or skill actions such as searching, investigating, or circling.
- Guild membership bonuses are now correctly reflected when viewing how high you can learn a skill — shown in

food, so get food and eat food work consistently regardless of the item's name.
- Spell and skill lists shown by trainers are now sorted from lowest to highest level.
- Mana costs for spells are now constant regardless of player level — what you see in
spell is what you pay at any level.

- Old level 31–40 practitioners have been removed now that those skills and spells have closer trainer locations.
- System Purge has been corrected to only be learnable by Monks.
May 12
- Practice points have been removed from the game. When you learn a skill or spell from a trainer, it is now automatically set to the highest level your stats allow — no more practicing at a trainer multiple times. If you have skills partially learned, visit any trainer and use
practice to bring them up to your full stat-based cap at no cost.
- The
skills and spells commands now show how many more you are able to learn.
May 11
- Sneak lowered to level 5.
- Backstab lowered to level 7 and now uses Sneak as its prerequisite instead of Hide.
